Off-line Website Marketing
It's important to remember that online is not the only marketing avenue
It's a common mistake — focusing too much on online marketing in an effort to attract attention to a new website. There are other opportunities to get your website out there.
1) Put your web address on everything - Marketing a website is not unlike marketing a business or product. In the same way that your company logo, name and contact information would go on everything you send out, the same is true with your website. Your web address should be on everything from your business card to your e-mail signature to your e-mail address.
2) Don't overlook print - The bad thing about online advertising is that it doesn't stick around, and there is often a lack of commitment to keep information current and accurate. Printed advertising such as ads, brochures and rack cards, keep you in total control of your image - exactly how it looks, what it says, and how long it's available.
Placing ads is a good strategy, simply because of the way ads work. Ads are like movie trailers; they don't tell the whole story, but instead, get your potential customers interested enough that they want to know more. By having your web address prominently displayed in your printed ad, you make it easy for your potential customer to go directly to your site instead of searching through websites on a search engine result list.
There are millions of websites out there and all of them are trying to get to the top of the list. If you are having trouble getting up there with them, then bypass the list! Push your website throughout your everyday communications. Make sure your web address is prominently displayed on all of your marketing materials. You'll find more people going to your site if you direct them this way.
